I Switched to This Clean Beauty Brand and I'm Never Going Back to My Old Products

Clean and vegan products have been all the rage in the last few years, as people are starting to pay more attention to what they put in their bodies.

If you’re reading this, my guess is that you have thought about switching to clean products, but don’t know where to start.

I made the switch from my long-trusted beauty brands to the clean beauty brand, Ilia.

Let me just say, I’m NEVER going back!

Using clean beauty brands that won’t irritate your skin or clog your pores, is a huge money-saver. Not only are you helping your future skin by nourishing it with ingredients such as aloe vera (which is known to help with inflammation), but you can get rid of so many products because your skin is healthy!

Since switching to clean beauty, I no longer need scrubs, cleansers, or my beloved face masks (although I still use them sometimes). My previous routine could easily have cost me $100 every few months. Being able to get rid of those items is a huge money-saver.

• You will lessen your carbon footprint.

While Ilia isn’t the only clean beauty brand I have ever used, it is by far my favorite.

In 2020 I made a vow to myself that when my current beauty products ran out, I would replace them with a clean product. But, let me just say, there was a LOT of trial and error.

For example, many people love Milk Makeup. Their marketing is fun, young, and bright, their packaging is cute, and let’s just say it—the products are super trendy.

So, when I knew I wanted to make the switch I started with Milk because it was advertised as vegan.

Although I loved the brand, I quickly learned that vegan does not always mean that your products are being made without toxic ingredients.

To keep it simple, beauty products labeled clean are the only products that are made without either chemical or natural toxic ingredients.

There were many more products that I tried in my journey to the perfect clean beauty brands. All of the products led me to the perfect brand for me.

1. It is initially more expensive than drugstore brands. If you are used to brands such as Clinique, Tarte, and Too Faced, the price will be about the same. However, if you are used to L'Oreal, Maybelline, and Neutrogena, your wallet will take a hit. But TRUST ME, it’s worth it!

1. Clean beauty is still fairly new in the game. So, finding an array of products that some other brands have, may be difficult. Clean brands tend to be on the more natural side when it comes to shades, so if you are a neon shadow girl/guy, you might have to do some digging.

Switching to clean beauty is one of the best decisions I have ever made. Not only does my skin feel better, but I am also saving so much money in the long run. My products last longer and I have been able to throw away so many unnecessary “extras” because my skin is at its best!!
